“Sweded” you say? Yes, according to the Urban Dictionary “sweded” means: [The summarized recreation of popular pop-culture films using limited budgets and a camcorder. The process is called “sweding”. Upon completion the film has been “sweded.”]
[Origins: In the Michel Gondry IMDb film BE KIND REWIND IMDb, the character Jerry accidentally erases the videotapes at Mos Def’s rental store, and the pair remake all the movies themselves. These versions become popular with customers, who are told they take longer to arrive and cost more because they come from Sweden. Hence, the films are referred to as ‘Sweded’.] Video made by DUMB DRUM.
In the dec 29 issue of Fortune Magazine, you can catch a glimpse of the Falcon as it will be seen in TFA.
Quote: [As for the cover shot, Yannick Dusseault, visual effects art director for The Force Awakens, and his team gave Fortune six options showing the Falcon in different ways. The resulting image required the custom rendering of ILM’s computer generated Falcon. According to ILM, the fabled ship was rendered in wireframe form (a skeletal version) as well as a more layered “textured render,” which were combined in Photoshop to create the final image.] [Click picture for higres version]

There are six Star Wars spin off movies currently in the works at Disney and Lucasfilm, five of which have already found their directors. The saga movies (VII, VIII & IX) are being directed by J.J. Abrams IMdb and Rian Johnson IMdb [Brick, The Brothers Bloom and Looper], Johnson will be making Episodes VIII and IX. Josh Trank IMdb [Chronicle] and Gareth Edwards IMdb [Godzilla] have been hired to make 2 of the 3 “spin-off” movies. Rumour has it the first could be all about Han Solo…
Who the cr*p are Amy Poehler and Tina Fey you say. They’re 2 comedians, determined to destroy Episode VII come opening weekend of dec 18 next year with their new movie “Sisters”. Well, good luck I’d say…
Here’s what complex.com has to say about it…
[Star Wars: The Force Awakens has already scared off Kung Fu Panda 3 all the way to 2016, but Amy Poehler and Tina Fey won’t be intimidated. Sisters, the duo’s upcoming comedy two siblings who learn their childhood house is about to be sold and do the responsible thing by throwing one last rager, will go head-to-head with Star Wars on Dec. 18. “We said we’d only do the movie if it opened against Star Wars,” Poehler said. “We’re not scared. It’s what gets us up in the morning. We’re going to fucking crush Star Wars.” Gotta love that confidence. We’d run all the way to 2017 just to be safe. But Fey and Poehler don’t play that shit. Perhaps impersonating Princess Leia made Fey realize she has nothing to be scared of, sort of like holding a spider to get rid of arachnophobia.]
“The Force Awakens” has finished filming back in november. Abrams, producers Kahtleen Kennedy and Bryan Burke decided to make the occasion a bit more personal. The cast and crew received a note thanking them for their hard work and passion on the project. [Click the picture for the highres version]
“Jay Kushwara: ceator of exceptional, high end production ready digital prototypes”. Attached are some pictures of a DV helmet made exclusively for eFX, based on the concept art of R. McQuarrie. Only 500 somewhat of these buckets were ever made. Below is the master pattern as seen on display at the San Diego Comic Con in 2008.
I have the impression that each concept art helmet made by McQ for the Darth Vader character in the original trilogy looks far more menacing than the one that eventually made it into the movies…
I hope you all have a great evening together with friends and family!
